To Be Who?
“To be someone who seeks betterment, day-by-day, who through discipline always does their best, bearing the full load of their responsibility to themselves, their loved ones, and those they engage with.
To be someone who accepts and forgives their own mistakes and imperfections, and who in kindness and suspension of judgment, seeks first to understand then to be understood, and in so doing, can love unconditionally.
To be someone who understands both what is within and outside their control, and who willingly accepts that the obstacles that come across their path pave the way for the future.
To be someone who is governed by their conscience, doing what is right – no matter the adversity or consequences, doing what needs to be done, selflessly and courageously.
To be someone who is aware of the inevitability of change and of their mortality, who seeks presence, and lets this determine what they do, say, and think.
To be someone who knows they do not possess all the answers; who welcomes criticism and will challenge their beliefs, thinking, and ultimately, what they hold to be true, in order to get closer to the truth.
To be someone who understands that despite the suffering life inevitably entails, that through their why they can bear any how.
With these as overarching ideals in which to strive towards, who you can become is someone living a life founded on the pursuit of truth, and it is that which is ultimately what is good.
In this pursuit, you may find you are someone who might just stumble upon the gift of some semblance of meaning.”
