Amidst the darkest hour, when all hope seems lost,
When friends turn their backs, and faith demands its cost,
Be brave, and speak the truth that burns within your veins.
Amidst the blackest night, when nothing but despair remains,
When words are turned against you, and even family curse your name,
Take courage, and let God’s light ignite the flame.
For in the darkest hour, the blackest night,
There still lies hope, in even the faintest light,
But it is won only through the fiercest fight.
Through midnight’s veil, in sorrow’s hour,
When doubt comes knocking, and seducers lie calling,
When confusion blinds and fear keeps you stalling.
At the darkest hour, of the blackest night,
Through surrender, come whatever may,
In that, my dear child, you shall find the way.
For in surrender, come whatever may,
Therein lies the truest faith;
God’s light shall guide the way.
His flame still burns, unyielding bright,
Amidst the darkest hour, the blackest night,
And it rests on you, dear child, to press on,
Toward the Everlasting Light.
